We are pleased to announce the appointment of Rod Dean as Director of BCECA with effect from 19 April 2010.

Rod has been working in the international E&C industry for 37 years. He joins us from M.W. Kellogg Ltd where for the past 14 years he has been involved in a wide range of duties connected with Marketing & Strategic Planning. Previously he served in John Brown where he gained extensive experience in Management Accounting, Planning, Construction, Project Management, Marketing & Business Development. He brings with him an impressive knowledge of our Industry with experience in Upstream Oil & Gas (both Offshore & Onshore ) and including Gas Monetisation, the Downstream sectors and has recently been involved in the wider Energy Fields of Power & Carbon Capture . He has strong business connections in HMG gov. He has been a board member of LATAG & NBCC, and currently serves on the board of the EIC & BCECA Council which gives him valuable background to the special world of our Association.
From within the Council Rod has already shown and demonstrated a real interest in BCECA.
We wish Rod every success in his new position.

Costain celebrated the successful completion of a strategically important project recently with the handover of the gas processing plant for the Holford underground gas storage facility in Cheshire.
The facility, which belongs to E.ON, will play a vital role in the future of UK's energy infrastructure.
The first three caverns, which represent the first phase of the development, are now commercially available with a capacity of 60 million cubic metres. When all eight caverns are in operation at the end of 2012, Holford will have a capacity of up to 160 million cubic metres.
The project was delivered in an integrated team combining the knowledge, experience and expertise of E.ON, Costain and supply chain partners from across UK and Europe.
Costain's scope included the engineering, procurement and construction management for the gas processing plant and associated infrastructure, including modification works to the wellheads to allow the caverns to be prepared for gas trading.
The project has received industry-wide recognition, being Highly Commended in the Chemical Engineering Project of the Year category at the IChemE Awards for Innovation and Excellence in November 2011.
Commenting on the start of operations at Holford, Mike Cooper, E.ON's Project Manager said: "This is a major achievement for the project team who have successfully addressed a number of complex technical and engineering challenges in delivering the operational facility at Holford. We would like to thank the Costain team for their effort and commitment in achieving this important handover milestone."
